Sulfonation & sulfochlorination

CABB carries out sulfonations with a variety of sulfonation reagents. Their different strengths and selectivities are applied to fine-tune the performance of the various reactions. Among the reaction conditions we carry out are sulfonations with SO₃ in liquid SO₂ at -20°C.

We access aromatic sulfonyl chlorides either through chlorination of sulfonic acids or through aromatic sulfonation and subsequent chlorination of the sulfonic acids in one-pot reactions.
